In this paper, image analyses-based evaluation technique for cleaning performance by nozzle has been proposed. The cleaning performances of the nozzles have been evaluated quantitatively using an image processing technique developed. Various mixed image filter have been tested for finding best performance on detecting cleaning rate attached on the fin-shaped structure. The structures and the areas of the fin shapes have been detected by adopting Gaussian filters, median filters, and edge detection process. Through a two-sample t-test, it has been confirmed that the areas of the targets measured by manual and by the proposed technique showed good agreements.
